Skinny girl cannot gain weight! Here are tips~!

Hello girlies

First of all I'd like to state that I'm no dietician... I don't work in a gym nor am I a personal trainer. I am speaking purely from what I've heard gym junkies say and do... and also the majority of what I say is my own experience and what I've been through.

I know that the major dilemma with most women is "losing weight" and most advise is given in that area, I mean heck! Pills have been created, TV shows etc etc
(sometimes girls I think have the most amazingly curvy bodies complain and I feel sad because I want a body like that)

Anyway, usually in this society it leave some skinny girls who gets made fun of.. who get called anorexic, a stick... and other nasty stuff.. when she just simply finds it difficult to gain weight!

I'll go through advise in Diet, Exercise and Mentality

Well I'm here now! To shed some light into this situation. I will share my experience and my techniques... but please know this...

MUST KNOW THIS!

Gaining weight diet:
It does not mean you should eat absolutely anything
It does not mean it's easy and can be done in a short time
It's not that different to 'losing weight'
It does not mean you shouldn't exercise

Gaining weight, just like losing weight.. will be equally as difficult especially if you are an ectomorph (have a very high metabolism)

It will take total dedication, consistency and patience


Diet

Usually when people hear 'diet' they assume it's only for losing weight.. well YOU'RE WRONG IF YOU THOUGHT THAT!

The problem with me personally when i was trying to gain weight is that I ate so much junk food mixed with carbs.... to the point I became sick and ended up in hospital .. and as a concequence losing all the weight I gained I was soooo proud of....

DO NOT, I REPEAT.. DO NOT PUT ANY STRESS ON YOUR DIGESTIVE SYSTEM!
Do that and say good-bye to all your hard gained weight, seriously. You will just become sick after a while and will feel sad, depressed with no motivation to gain weight at all.. telling yourself it's impossible

My Diet

The key here is to find foods high in carbs, but you can eat very easily.... I'll tell you a home made milkshake of mine I make ... containing over 800 calories ... I drank it twice a day (which is over 1600 calories in the bag!) and also included smaller consumable meals.. so my little belly could handle all that food

Here is my very simple diet everyday which helped me gain weight

Milkshake x 2 - 1600 calories
Basmati Rice 200g - 800 calories

Yeah, that's it... I didn't over do it this time ... just 600 calories over what's recommended for me

What's in one milkshake?
5 tbs of smooth peanut butter (Kraft)
one medium banana
300ml of whole milk (i use the woolworths dairy fresh, but any high calorie whole milk can do)

.... yes Peanut butter helped ... A LOT!!!!!!!
If you're allergic to peanut butter, another alternative would be protein powder, I know it's expensive but it is a good alternative

Dont's for Diets

  • Don't eat to the point where you feel too stuffy, heavy and sick
  • Don't eat foods like cake, chocolates... all that sweet sweet junk .. cut it out of your diet .. it will make you full easily and you won't be able to eat the neccesary food with more calories to help you gain weight
  • If you feel sick after weeks of going smoothly with a good diet which gives you progress, take a break for a day and just eat enough to maintain your weight

Exercise

I know that the logical idea to gaining weight is to not do anything physical at all... perhaps that's  true as it saves you energy.. but it doesn't hurt to do strength training at least twice a week.. just to add muscle as well to your body ;) tone yourself up! Do research on good exercises to help tone the body parts you want to tone up

Mentality

Please... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... DO NOT go in with the mentality that :

"oh no it's my genetics I can't gain weight it's impossible" - trust me .. it's hard (like i said before, it's hard like how it's hard for some people to lose weight.. genetics causes it but it's not impossible at all, you just need consistency and patience)

"i just can't do it, everytime I do gain weight it just disappears" - you were most likely too hard on yourself, take baby steps, and don't strain yourself about it ok? you can do it! just don't over do it .. take it slow.. you need patience


You know, even while i was on this diet... I did lose a little weight at times, i was disheartened but i kept at it.. and now I'm almost 5 kg's heavier .. so happy, 5kgs to go!

Just know that everyone has their own pace.. so don't be disheartened and keep working on it!

You need total dedication, consistency and patience...

Motivator

Another big helper is a motivator... what will motivate you to achieve this goal?
You want to be healthier?
You want to look good? ;)

Any kind of motivator! It could be absolutely anything, even if it's crazy... if it motivates you .. then use it!
